Tandem riding, for the most part, is about having fun. Whether you're riding with your children, spouse, or just a good friend, a tandem equalizes the abilities of the riders and makes the ride more about the experience.

At R+E Cycles, we have 38 years of designing, building and riding tandems behind us. Most people don't realize that we're about the oldest tandem manufacturers still building our tandems in the U.S. This has given us a broad range of experience which enables us to create the perfect tandem for you. I've always said that when you buy a bike, you're also buying a relationship with the shop and the manufacturer of your bike. This is especially true with tandems.

Tandems are also the specialty of our Head Frame Builder Dennis Bushnell. He's probably the most experienced tandem builder alive today.

Save $$$ on Maintenance
We go to great lengths to incorporate components that will be reliable, durable and suited for tandem use. This means that the 'latest and greatest' (according to slick advertising campaigns anyway) fall by the wayside sometimes to make way for the 'tried and true'. You'll notice for instance, that Rodriguez tandems are spec'd with 8 and 9-sp drive trains, as well as our Trillium Big Squeeze™ tandem brakes. These 'tried and true' components can potentially save the owner hundreds each year in maintenance. When you take a personalized test ride with us, you'll see why RODRIGUEZ tandems have stood the test of time!

Custom is FREE
Comfort is the key to a good tandem. If the fit isn't comfortable, it doesn't matter what the components are. At R+E Cycles, comfort is key that drives the design. We strive to achieve the perfect fit for each of you and the proper level of "cush" depending on your needs. We've determined that there is worth building every tandem custom sized to the riders. There's no need to compromise when it comes to fit. Wheel size can be 700c or 26" for any model we make. It's that easy, and no 'extra' charges.

In addition to our economical Toucan ST tandem, the 2011 line-up has some excellent value in our Classic tandems as well. The Rodriguez Classic tandems have all of that 'hand-built' quality that you've come to know us for, and are an excellent value. We guarantee fit and fun on every one. 4 stock paint options or custom paint colors for just $100-$400 extra, and 5 different decal styles.

Wow! That's a lot of different options. The Classic comes in standard, and a travel version that will fit into 2 26" X 26" suitcases for a $2,000 upgrade price.
